Hello hill-ites,
With it not possible to give group tours, Esotouric has just launched a weekly series of immersive Los Angeles history webinars, starting with "Inside the Bradbury Building." This hour-long illustrated talk with Q&A aired live on Saturday, and the recording will be online through 10/3:
On October 3, we'll present "Inside the Dutch Chocolate Shop"
And on October 10, a program about Beth Short and the Black Dahlia murder investigation:
Don't worry, we'll get around to Bunker Hill! But you don't have to wait to pick up a copy of Nathan Marsak's long awaited book "Bunker Hill Los Angeles." It was sold out on release last Tuesday, but should be back in stock on Amazon soon (
https://amzn.to/3n8V5wC) and I hear that Vroman's in Pasadena has copies--and that venerable bookshop needs your support.
And Nathan can also be found lamenting the current threats to Los Angeles landmarks and culture in the Cranky Preservationist videos we make together. See the latest one on the RIP Los Angeles blog:
cheers,
Kim
