As is offten the case with affiliate programs, it's often more about
mass marketing for the company concerned; as is illustrated by the
generated code for banners and widgets (well, just the one widget
here).

The banner codes link straight to Offbeat Guides, so the affiliate
will need to be certain that they add their affiliate code to the link
on the banner. A smart affiliate program (with the affiliate in mind)
would automatically generate this.

The widget has a 'Powered by Offbeat Guides' link on it, which again
bypasses the affiliate id. There's also no way for the affiliate to
change this, as it's called from a widget.js file on the Offbeat
server; unless the affiliates decides to open the javascript file,
edit it and store it on their server (like I've done).

This works fine, until the javascript code of the real file is
changed.

Michel,

Thanks for the feedback. You're right about the banner builder -
that's a bug! It should show the link with your partner code embedded
in it if you are logged in and registered to be an affiliate.

And good catch on the "Powered by" link. We'll fix that so it includes
the affiliate/partner ID in the link as well.

Thanks for the great feedback!
