Join Us at GWU Workshop on Animal Well-being and Screening of BREACH

Dear Humanitarian,
On November 13 and 14, at The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC, AWI's president and other experts will be speaking on a variety of animal welfare issues as part of a workshop entitled "International Law and Wildlife Well-being—Moving from Theory to Action." The event is free and we would be honored if you could attend.
The goal of the workshop is to put issues of wildlife well-being on the international agenda to raise awareness and address them more effectively. AWI's team will take part in several panel discussions relating to issues such as entrapment and capture, whaling and hunting (including trophy hunting), captivity (including in private and public zoos and aquariums), the use of wild animals in tourism, human-wildlife conflicts over land use, and international wildlife trade.
On Friday evening, AWI is hosting a light buffet followed by a free screening of BREACH, a film about Icelandic whaling, followed by a Q&A session with BREACH producer and director Jonny Zwick and AWI experts.
When: November 13–14, 2015 9:00AM-6:00PM (BREACH screening 6:30PM)
Where: George Washington University Law School, The Jacob Burns Moot Court Room, 2000 H St., NW, Washington, DC
Nearest Metro: Foggy Bottom (Blue/Orange/Silver lines) (click here for a map from the metro)
Register: To register to attend the workshop please visit http://www.law.gwu.edu/News/2014_15_Events/Pages/International-Law-and-Wildlife-Wellbeing.aspx, respond to this email, or call AWI at (202) 337-2332 and we will register you. Registration for the screening is not required.
Please be sure to share our "Dear Humanitarian" eAlert with family, friends, and co-workers, and encourage them to attend this interesting and informative event, as well. As always, thank you very much for your support!
Sincerely,
Cathy Liss
President
