Hello everyone, 

 

I am currently the Deputy IT Director at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. We are looking to hire a tech support specialist at our office on Capitol Hill. The DSCC IT department has been an awesome opportunity for me and I've been working here since early 2015. IT Support Specialist

 

The DSCC IT team is seeking a self-motivated technologist to support users on a variety of platforms and play a critical role in developing and implementing cybersecurity best practices by DSCC users. The IT Support Specialist position responds to requests for technical support, so should have experience identifying, troubleshooting, researching, and resolving technical issues. Applicants must possess strong organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate has some involvement in Democratic politics and is a technology enthusiast with a desire to learn more about Information Technology and Cybersecurity (no direct IT experience necessary).

 

Skills:

  • Experience troubleshooting MacOS, Windows, and iOS devices
  • Well organized, excellent communication skills, and an ability to work well with others
  • Experience working for small to medium size organizations and/or non-profits and political organizations is preferred
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform experience is a plus 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Regular staff communications on technology optimization and IT security best practices
  • Training users in proper use of equipment and software 
  • Asset management for assigned IT equipment
  • Maintenance of laptops, mobile devices, and printers
  • Responding to DSCC staff, Senate campaigns, and vendors for technical support on a variety of technologies through email, phone calls, or direct messages
  • Researching and troubleshooting a variety of technical issues
  • Follow up with users to ensure technical issues have been resolved
  • Attend yearly IT training/skill building
