Thanks Martha,

Will do.

(1) Two of our Community Colleges (Seattle Central Community College | Tacoma Community College) are "Participating Collaboratory Colleges" on the Statway project ... and SBCTC staff are involved too.

My hope is those colleges will have positive results with Statway ... so we can introduce it to our other 32 Colleges.

(2) Tom Caswell (formerly OCW - now SBCTC) is building a matrix of OER resources that line up with our 81 courses ... we'll be sure to add: http://www.carnegiefoundation.org/statway  and http://www.carnegiefoundation.org/statway/statway-resources

·         Yes – we will put the matrix online, CC BY it, and share with y’all … Tom is almost done with v.1

Good weekend,

Cable

From the article it sounds like some prpfessors aren't aware of the new math/statistics course that is being pilot tested to bring students from algebra through statistics in two semesters. Uri Treisman, Candace Thille, the AMA, AMATYC, the Statistics Professional Assn. and math scholars have been working on this for the past two years through the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. It might be useful to let them know about it.

I forgot to mention … our Intro to Statistics professor (quoted in the article), Federico Marchetti, is also part of Candace’s CC-OLI project to design a Community College version of “Intro to Statistics.”
