Those of you on the OEMad-Tech list already saw this, but I wanted to
hit as many people as possible.

Subject: [Madlug] Josh Berkus to discuss PostgreSQL on Tuesday
To: madlug <
Mad...@madisonlinux.org>
Apologies for the late notice, but we had to find a venue and such.
Open Everything Madison* (Technology Division) would like to invite
you to join us for Josh Berkus to answer questions about PostgreSQL.
This is a very special opportunity as he lives in San Francisco.
'Josh Berkus has been a member of the PostgreSQL Core Team since 2002.
He is CEO of PostgreSQL Experts Inc., a PostgreSQL professional
services company. Prior to working on PostgreSQL, he worked with a
variety of other software, including OpenOffice.org, Microsoft SQL
Server, Oracle PL/SQL, and (shudder) COM+. He also does Perl.'

We'll be in our old stomping groups of Chamberlain Hall (High Energy
Physics):
Chamberlain is not a particularly easy building to navigate. The
address is 1150 University Ave. The conference room is on the fourth
floor in room 4274, next to the department office. Enter the building
on the north side (near Sterling hall) and simply head up to the
fourth floor -- the conference room is the sixth door on the right.
If you enter the building from University Ave it's a maze and it's
only slightly better from Charter St. Sterling is not listed on the
map I give you below, unless you hover over it. Sterling is beside
Van Vleck. Wireless access will be provided. Assuming all hell
doesn't break loose at work, I'm going to get some navigational signs
up, and Chris (venue sponsor) might be able to do that.
PARKING:
University parking is available near Chamberlin Hall, but depending on
your comfort level driving on campus. As you can see from the campus
map (
http://www.map.wisc.edu/?initObj=0055&wing= ) there are plenty
of bus stops around. There is also street parking. There's also pay
parking in Grainger Hall and you will see other numbered parking on
the map. Many people say the engineering parking (17) is a good place
to park. While I've never parked there, it appears the lot opens to
the public at 4:30:
