Alnisa and I have been discussing whether we should do something for
Open Access Week or something for the planned worldwide Open
Everything event Oct 31. Some of this discussion took place at
yesterday's MadPy meeting and some of it took place over omb
(http://identi.ca/allgood2), but the "in context" is massively broken,
as it often is. Unless someone wants to step up and help us make this
happen, I don't see us doing both as an option.

Open Access Week is October 19th-23rd, a week that is busy for Alnisa
and I already have a MadLUG meeting
(http://web608.org/events/2009/09/24/october-presentation-snmp-and-nagios)
on Tuesday night (and class Monday and Wednesday night). It also
gives us a week less time to make things happen. There is the chance
UW is doing something for Open Access Week, but Alnisa and I have yet
to hear about it.

We are contemplating just having a Halloween party in the name of Open
Everything. If we do that, we'll have to plan where and if we don't
have it at a bar we'll have to make refreshments happen and find a
place.
