I'm just curious.  Did anyone else get such a notice?

Dear DouglasAWh,
We want to share with you an important update about our radio service:

From February 15 you will need to be a subscriber to listen to Last.fm Radio stations on devices, including your Last.fm Android app.

No other features are affected by this change.

In taking this decision, we have given a lot of thought to how this impacts some of our early adopters and long-time users like you. We truly appreciate what you have meant to our growth and success, and offer you the following as a token of our thanks;

A free 3 month subscription to Last.fm
This will start automatically on February 15th 2011. As a result you will continue to be able to use Last.fm as you do today until the end of your subscription.  If you'd like to see the other benefits of your free subscription, please visit the subscription page.

We appreciate you may have questions about this announcement, so visit our blog to read more about these changes and offer feedback.

We value your support and hope you continue to enjoy using Last.fm.

Yeah I got it too. I'm kinda bummed about it. I did use it quite a bit. More than the website. But I still got the WFMU radio app I can use. Not really the same but it's creative commons music and it does scrobble. And the jamendo app ain't nothing to sneeze either it's just that for general listening you only have a few genres to choose from.

Been that way for me too recently.

It's not all CC, right? Does it give license info? I just installed
it and will check it out later.

Always a plus. SoundCloud needs this.

You can get other radio if you know the station id, but it would be
great if you could search. I both loath and love the Jamendo app, but
if you could do an advanced search by license it would be much more
useful. If you could set it to random rather than playing an entire
album, that would be great too. If you could skip to say, #35 in the
top 100 playlist that would be great too. Always keeping that one
song as the first play in the station ensures that it stays at #1.

You can make your own playlists too and then listen to them from the
phone. I think my final judgement on the Jamendo app is that if you
are willing to go into it prepared, it's a great app. For discovery,
it's a good app. It's certainly my favorite at the moment.
