You have done an elegant and insightful formulation and application of the triplet map. It's very interesting to see the similarities and differences in perspective relative to the models that I call LEM and ODT.
I have copied this reply to a google group that is an online community of some of the people who develop and apply LEM and ODT. Perhaps some of them will send you their work. I will send attachments in a separate email so they don't go to everyone in the group. If you are interesting in joining, I can send you an invitation.
You mention rain initiation - I will send a publication related to ongoing work on this. Meteorologist Steve Krueger (U. of Utah) and I are preparing a paper that addresses this more directly. Also, Steve did some earlier work related to this using an LEM-based model. I have hard copies but not a pdf of the most relevant paper (Su et al.), but he might be able to provide a pdf.

an now I was contacted by Charles Meneveau, who pointed out that you have done very similar studies in this field. First, I'd like to apologize for not making references to your studies - I simply wasn't aware of these. Now I found that you came to the idea of the triplet map already in 1999, and I just re-discovered it.
Second, I read your Phys Fluids papers, but have not yet been able to get your J. Fluid Mech and other papers (because our Institute lacks the subscriptions); could you send me the appropriate pdf files? As far as I understand, my analytical results (e.g. the expression for the structure functions) are new, but it would be really helpful, if you could point me to the most relevant studies of your team.
Finally, I understood that you are also studying the rain initiation problem.
I would be very grateful, if you could send me your papers in this field, as well.
