Hello,

I'm just wondering what do people do when there ODSP case worker
refuses to return calls and is impossible to contact. I've been
calling mine for the past three weeks due some important issues. Do I
contact a supervisor? If so how do I manage to do that? If I do should
I be afraid of backlash from my casworker.

Call and get the receptionist to get the supervisors extension, then
leave a message that this is an important matter and you need help

Ok, Thank you, everyone I'll try your sugguestions. I believe my
caseworker has made a major goof and left poof of it in written letter
and that is why they're avoiding me and my issue. I'm really afraid of
backlash and hate to ask them for anything. I didn't want to open this
can of worms but I guess, I'm left with no choice in the matter.

Well about week ago I decided to send my caseworker a let because I
could not get into contact with them. Seems much like my phone calls
the letter was ignored. I assumed they would not deliberately ignore
me and where just incredibly busy. Seems they have done just that and
it will be necessary to contact a manager. I am not sure who to send
the letter to should I just make it addressed to ODSP Manager? On the
ODSP site in my region there are three managers?

I cannot believe getting into contact with them and getting a few
issues resolved has to be so complex this whole situation is
completely stressing me out.

Look for your office here and email one or all of the managers is my suggestion.

I have been leaving voice mail and handwritten notes with the
receptionists (stamped copies) , and letters regarding an issues for
the last year, i even requested a review of a miscalculation and wrote
the required letter to dispute it through a hearing within the ten
days and hand delivered it and received a stamped copy, i showed up
without warning on three occassions asking to see a worker as my
worker never seemed to be available even though i was willing to wait
or come back....the only time i got any response was from the
Manager...who took my call because my worker wrongfully discontinued
my support pre emptively as a result of paperwork they did not
understand from revenuie canada and could not explain...(even though i
warned her ahead of time, instead just beofre she left for a
months !!! holidays she she decided not to deal with it) leaving me
without anything to live on for a month causing me to miss my mortgage
payment and render me ineligible for automatic renewal in two year
( i will not re-qualify now)...the manager corrected the mistake and
told me that it was the only issue of mine he had time to hear as he
was responsilbe for too much already, and it was my worker who would
have to be contacted for all the other problems.

......my caseworker changed, and the new one inherited my issue, the
office moved, and all kinds of excuses to avoid me, but if they want
something i have no notice and they discontinue my eligibility until i
produce evidence to contradict their common sense oversights - (even
though they have direct access to revenue canada information and
contact numbers, they refused to look into it, i had to do it the hard
way and then was told by revenue canada that it was their
responsibility to follow up on this and understand it - yet every
worker i talked to had no idea and told me they would not)

i really give up - it is insane - i have attempted contact about 20
times in the last year....i will wait for them to call me again and
then i will make them review it all with me...right now i am being
deducted for a huge overpayment that no one can explain.......i am
getting my life organized for it as we speak, i believe in my case
they have failed to deliver the program adequately to me

Welcome to ODSP

You should contact your MPP in your riding where your live and tell
him/her of your problems. That is what happened to someone did few
years ago when she had problems with not getting her cheque in the
mail at the end of the month. This was before direct deposit days. She
needed the money to pay rent as her landlord was giving her problems
with NSF cheques (because she didn't get her cheques at the end of
each month) and she had to give cash on the 1st day of each month to a
slum landlord. She got her MPP involved to straightened the mess with
the caseworker and to stop causing her problems with hardship in the
future, etc.

I wrote brief letter and addressed it to ODSP Manager I hope I get
results. I am afraid of backlash from my caseworker but I have had
enough this nonsense so it was time to take a stand. I have never
had an
issue like this before but I am sure the Manager will take notice.
This all so stressful and is making me have panic attacks;
considering
my mental issues this doing me no good. If this does not work I will
contact my MP that is thankfully NDP but I will not even bother with
the MPP since there Liberal and will careless.

6 weeks ago, I got a new special diet form in th mail to have filled out, I have no idea why I have to have it done so soon again???? I have contacted my worker once or twice a week for the last 6 weeks and still havent had a return phone call.

Maybe the SAR should be more worried about making the workers do their job than making ODSP recipients work LOL

Many years ago I did the MPP thing, BUT I reasoned a Liberal MPP
wouldn't be the most helpful regarding a Liberal problem.
I used a Con MPP (Kleese) as I figured that he would fight harder for
me, and he had a reputation and track record for this.
...He fixed the problem, but I'm certain my file is flagged because of
it.

Weigh the Pros & Cons :)

Well, I'm happy to say contacting the ODSP Manager got me fast
results. I had a phone call from my caseworker this afternoon and
everything is fixed up now. I hope I don't have to do this again in
the future what huge hassle to fix some simple issues. I hated to do
it and I don't like giving people hard time with there bosses.
