I don't think so. However, if you are in Toronto you may wish to see
if the Welcome Program has anything that might work for you. That
pays for a limited amount of Parks and Rec programming, including
swimming. Other municipalities may have similar types of programs.

Hi Emma…. you can check with any Y family or YWCA… I was

charged 50% off because of being disabled…..the payment came out

of my account every two weeks…. I think it was about $20.00 every

2 weeks….I joined in the swimming exercises and used the hot tub….

i hope to start again this Fall…..

cheers, Mike

YMCA offers subsided to low income people. If these's one in your area
check it out they usually have a great gym and pool.

Melanie I have to say congrats dear on your efforts! Especially when you are
getting results too, that's a great feeling....

I'm curious to ask... what is smoothie, exactly?. I see them advertised on shop
windows here and there but I've never had one; other than thinking it might have
something to do with a low-fat milk shake I'm in the dark!

Iduff asked for a photo of me with my shed pounds.  Sorry Duff, I don't look that
different to be honest but wow, do I feel good.  But I have to stick at it.  I was
mercilessly teased all my life for being a stick and ugly and now I'm stuck with extra
weight.

I lost weight by working out and eating light.  Okay, sometimes not eating at all.
Lots of smoothies as well.

Melanie

I make them with yogurt, fruit and a bit of milk tossed in the
blender. Strawberry and banana is our favourite. but we like peach
and raspberry too. There's loads of different variations. Some
people like to add things like honey or protein powder.

If you can get a doctor's recommendation, ODSP may subsidize membership at your local YM/YWCA or municipal operated recreation program. However, ODSP will not cover the cost of private for profit gym memberships.
