I was wondering if ODSP covers the cost of orthotic supports for inside your shoes? I don't mean the generic drug store ones, but ones made for your arch.

Yes they do: requires a script from your GP; take to a place which
makes custom orthotics (sports medicine clinic, orthopedic clinic,
physiotherapy clinic etc.) and they forward the estimated cost to your
ODSP caseworker. I have inserts as well as a pair of walking shoes ---
similar process.

I am on my feet for a good 3 to 4 hours for work and running around a day.
I find shoes alone.... I don't bother with those Walmart type shoes.
I buy those brown Kodiak type shoes sold by the name "Merrell".
If these walking shoes only last 6 months. I am responsible for the
remaining time?
Exactly the answer I needed. Argh....
There should be blanket coverage. Either something for all or
nothing for all. Not random areas.
I also asked if ODSP helps disabled people find jobs. No they
don't. They only fund job things like clothes that have to be bought
for by the employee, that are specially for that job.
I kind I go through 2.5 pairs of shoes a non-winter year. March to
November-ish.
I don't buy pairs of shoes less than $60.
