Hi,
I saw the postings about the Farley Foundatiion and thought I might add a little to it. I am not a
fervent user of community programs; I don't have much knowledge on this sort of thing. I did
have ocassion once, about 3 years ago, to get help from the Farley Foundation. I had a cat with
bowel issues and it needed a pretty serious biopay type of procedure costing 500$.
I have a link to thier website which I'll leave in this post instead of describing what they do and how.
The bottom line is they help low income (ODSP) folks who need financial assistance in the care of a pet.
They most def do have parameters in which they operate, and how one can benefit and as i said, the website
can answer your questions. From what I recall they can help up to 500$ (when I used them anyways).
I don't recall what the limit was on how many times I could get assistance from them. The vet I went
through was at a cat hospital in Ottawa. He was actually on one of the boards for the Farley Foundation.
Turns out he was a really bad vet for me, but that's another story altogether.
The Farley Foundation (URL)
http://farleyfoundation.com/It was a good enough experience using thier services, I can say that. Also, they didn't dictate what route
I should take with my pet, they just would either approve assitance or not, and of course would let me know
the why's and how's of it all. If you have to deal with them, all my best, and I hope your pet does ok!
