They seem to have claimed I made far less money from ODSP than I
actually did.
H and R Block ? ODSP ? Canada Revenue Agency ?
It might have something to do with the CPP slip I received, which gave
claimed way too much money, like all the retroactive payments going
back to October 2007.
None of it seems to make sense to me. I haven't kept all my ODSP
cheque stubs and CPP-D approval letter from 2009.
What do people suggest ?
Anyone else have this problem ?
> Anyone know who we contact for huuuge mistakes on our T5007 ODSP

It says near the bottom, "If you have any questions about the amount of
benefits shown on this slip, contact your social service agency."
For me, the address is in the top left corner, that being the local ODSP
office. Since that seems to be the only obvious lead, perhaps you should
check with them first.
If they have any other ideas they should let you know.

A few years ago I received a letter from rev.can. asking me to verify
that'd I'd given H&R Block the right to have access to my revenue
canada taxfiles for the rest of life. I most certainly hadn't. There
was a clitch in H&R's default system.
I had to file a form 13.

I usually do my own taxes but that year the software I'd downloaded
from the gov't secured site was driving me stark raving mad. It just
wouldn't give me a total and let me complete and send my return. It
kept telling me to return to page such and such and report my legal
expenses...like I've got money for a lawyer, not that I didn't need
one that year.
It was a terribly aweful horribly bad year.

I was at H&R Block to file my income tax this morning. It was just a
basic return and it was free after all the trouble I went thru last
year that they apologize and gave me a letter saying to come back next
year to do my income tax free of charge. When it comes to paying the
bill, they printed the receipt. For a basic 2009 tax return, the price
is $82 plus. That is highway robbery for a basic tax return. Thank god
I didnt' have to pay nothing. Oh my gosh. That is terrible. I will not
come back next year. I will either file it myself or Netfile or
whatever.
H&R Block even asked me if I got my rent receipt from the Landlord. I
said no and I was never ever asked for that for over 25 years. She had
me sign the paper to say they can get permission from my Landlord to
get the rent receipt in case they are problems with Revenue Canada and
H&R later on. Yeah, right.

Get an estimate from your favourite optician. Submit it to ODSP. They used
to process it on the spot. Now they take their own sweet time.
When they have it for you, take it back to the optician. and you'll get your
glasses - up to a certain amount and then you have to pay any extra.

The fact that you're advertising this leads me to believe that you can
afford a snazzy modern operating system that can handle it. Wild.

I think that was an ad that comes with yahoo.. Sean....
I've been using Gmail now for a few years and much prefer it. There
isn't any of that stuff on Gmail, except for the random quotes I
deliberately set to be added for each email....but no ads and not any
where near the junk mail I get with Yahoo or Hotmail.
Not all of us are rich enough to afford an operating system that can run
IE8.
I mean, I bought a refurbished computer with Windows 2000 some time ago. I
can't afford Windoze XP let alone Windoze 7.
XP is the oldest operating system that will run IE7 and above.
By the way, don;t they every use Netscape? What happened to it? I
seemed to remember using Netscape many years ago.

It really doesnt' matter how many hours you can work while on ODSP.
You can work as little as 6 or 8 or 100 hours per month. It is
whatever how much you make is what they take 50% off your cheque. If
you make too much money, like more money you make than your monthly
ODSP cheque while on ODSP, they may suspend your benefits. I am not
too clear on that, as that has not happened to me. Don't forget you
will get an extra $100 working benefit included in your ODSP
statement. That helped a lot. I really do miss it since I haven't been
working for the last few months.
I only worked something like between 6 to 13 hours per month for
almost 2 years til I was let go Nov 4 of last year. I don't know why
they hire me in the first place when there were not that busy, but I
supposed they can claim me as an office expense or whatever you call
it or something in their income taxes. I never had any deductions
taken off my paycheque because I was a causal worker.

Still, I've had more problems with Firefox and have been rather discouraged
by Opera (even with a keygen) so for me it's still the best of the worst.

As a long time "Bob" Dobbs fan I'm interested in his inspired oprating

Some time ago my DVD burner died leaving me with very little. I just bought
a new DVD burner - the joker who bought it before me returned it so it was
half price. But it works.
The ditzy clerk still tried to charge me full price until I demanded that
she give it to me at the lowest sticker price. She did - but not without
hassle. Sheesh! and *I* am the one who is
out of work. Go figure. So I'm reviving old files that have sat dormant on
old DVDs for a while then I plan on backing up what I can and going Linux.
Yes I'm aware of Ubuntu and the guy
who founded Canonical is a zillionaire and gives away the CDs/DVDs for free
(yes I have one or more) but I'm not as young as I used to be and have to
take steps even slower than I did before.
Life.... don't talk to me about life.....
