So I've been facing this problem on my phone for a very long time and it's getting ridiculous. I use Facebook for some time on another device like my computer, I send texts back and forth and and everything is alright. But when later I turn the Wifi on or mobile data on my phone, I get bombarded with hundreds of notifications of Facebook Messenger messages that I have already seen and/or responded to, so I have to sit and wait for a few minutes for my phone to go through a ton of annoying notification pop-ups, sounds, and vibrations. So it's basically lightning up like a christmas tree. Again, I've already seen these messages, answered all of them, and had full conversations with other people and all. It's basically notifying me again of every message that hasn't been received on my phone. Not only that, but when I open the app and the messages are being received, I can the see the Messenger app receiving the messages in real time and, like it's syncing right at that moment, which makes me things even more that it's a Messenger app problem.

I tried talking with customer service at PayPal, and they would not help. They blamed FaceBook! I am getting PayPal purchases notices through messenger for my HUSBAND's Paypal (not my Paypal). No, we don't have the same email, and we don't use the same user name. It is very frustrating NOT to get notified for my account and my purchase but always see his... Can someone help disconnect our accounts and help me with NOT getting PayPal notices through FaceBook Messenger for his Paypal?

Those messages were accurate. I can log into my husband PayPal account because we share this information with each other and those charges were posted on his account and should have never been sent to me via Facebook Messenger please transfer me to your manager because I don't think you understand how your system work

Sunny as much as I want to help you the only resolution to this is to contact facebook and tell them about this issue. You are right about PayPal is initiating it's because PayPal is the who process the transaction and the email which is linked to that transaction is also linked to facebook messenger. Sunny your need to contact facebook about this since someone is owning the old email address that is linked to your PayPal account. It looks like you stepped away from our conversation. That's ok! When you reply we'll connect your message to the next available Customer Support team member if the previous Team Member is not available.

Hi John, I appreciate your trying to help. Since I do have my husband's login. I went and deactivated these features on his account since it is HIS account that seems to be improperly linked to my Facebook messenger... I will look at the other forum.

It seems like he won't be able to get any messages with Facebook because they will try and send them to me. I think the trouble began years ago when he and I tried to use ONE Paypal, and when I would call to handle things Paypal refused to talk to me even though it was My email, and My business, and My Facebook, and I was authorized a number of times, and now that the account was linked wrong it makes me think he may even have to close it and reopen it to get it to work correctly.

Unfortunately, the only solution was to turn messenger off ON TWO separate accounts which in my mind does not fix account mismatch. Because the minute we turn it on with his account, I start getting the messages again in mine. I believe that IT_TECH needs to manually disconnect the Facebook accounts in the software which is clearly something I can not do. He can not even re-establish the Messenger notifications with his own account! They still come to me if we turn Messenger back on is his account. BTW he has a personal PayPal and Mine is Business. (Not sure if that matters) but the settings to adjust each are different w/regards to Messenger. In my mind, completely stopping a feature, and not being able to use it, IS NOT a good solution.

Messages and calls from friends and family using Instagram will stay in your Instagram app. The main change is that people using the Messenger app can now reach you on Instagram without you needing to download a new app, and vice versa. You can also control where you receive messages and calls, such as in your chats, in your message requests or not at all.

Hey there, @Hayhayj199! We hate to see that you are having problems sending messages. We know how having to deal with this can be troublesome, and we want to be sure that you're given the right support for this issue!

Once someone engages with you on Facebook Messenger, you can also use sponsored messages to continue the conversation later, including following up with upsell or upgrade offers timed to the end of a trial.

These responses can be created to help you answer common questions easily. Once you set up FAQs, they will appear as suggested messages for the person to click on. Messenger will then send your automated response to that question.

Conversations can come at your from multiple angles on Facebook: Through public comments, @mentions, and Messenger DMs. Sometimes one customer might try all three, as well as sending messages on your other social channels.

Businesses that reply to messages in a timely manner are awarded with a Very Responsive badge for their Facebook business page. To earn a badge, businesses must have a response time of less than 15 minutes, and a 90% response rate.

People can also see on your Messenger profile how quickly you usually respond to messages. A faster average response time helps build confidence and assures customers they can expect to hear from you soon.

We already mentioned that you can use sponsored messages ads to reactivate a conversation with an existing Facebook Messenger contact. You can also use Click to Message ads to encourage potential customers to contact you for the first time.

What if a Brand has several FB pages (one in country A and one in county B)
All the messages coming from Page A need to go to group 1 and all the messages coming from Page B need to go to group 2.
As we cannot select the Integration account, I don't know if this set up is doable now.

This appears to be possible with the old way to integrate Facebook private messages to Zendesk Support, very strange that this isn't supported from the get go with this new improved method of integrating Facebook messages into Zendesk.

Before you can receive messages from Facebook, you'll need to link your Facebook page to the Messenger channel in the Twilio Console. To set it up, navigate to Channels > Facebook Messenger.

Using Conversations to handle your Messenger communications is very productive. Conversations will maintain distinct threads for each customer, and also allows you to receive messages and reply from your channel of choice. You can connect your server-side integration and reply via REST API, connect chatbots or Studio Flows to handle communication in an automated fashion, use our SDK to connect via client-side mobile or web apps, or connect SMS or WhatsApp to receive Messenger chats and reply natively.

To automatically create a new Conversation when a new user messages you on Facebook, you'll need to create a rule using the Address Configuration API. When a message comes in to your Facebook page, we'll check to see if there's an existing Conversation with the sender already. If there is, we'll copy the message into the Conversation. If there isn't, and you have autocreation enabled, we'll create a new Conversation and follow any webhook rule you've added using this API.

This example shows you how to enable autocreation, notify a server-side webhook, and send all subsequent messages to the webhook as they're added. This could be good if you want to reply to the user with the REST API or if you want to connect an external chatbot.

Hi,

We have a 80F firewall we are wanting to put into production but need to be able to troubleshoot these types of issues reliably. We have deep packet inspection turned on with a CA certificate approved by our AD CS (no warning messages when visiting websites).

Facebook Messenger application is unable to send\receive messages however messenger.com works fine without issue. If we add facebook.com to the exception list the Facebook messenger application begins to work as well.

What may we be able to do to have these types of issues work without beginning to add a bunch of exemptions into our SSL inspection - defeating the purpose of the firewall.

It is good that you have deep packet inspection enabled and a CA certificate approved by the AD CS. Still, it can be frustrating when some applications work differently than expected. Remember that the Facebook Messenger app may use a different SSL certificate or encryption method than the one used by messenger. This could be the cause of a firewall issue. Another option is to consider alternative messenger apps that prioritize security and privacy. I found Jtwhatsapp -safest-messengers-for-pcs-and-smartphones/ a couple of weeks ago, and I am thrilled, as these apps are great for confidential conversations. Good luck, and let us know if you find a solution!

Hi - I have just got my Galaxy Watch 3, bluetooth version, and I have a setup problem. Although I can get it to notify me of a Messenger message, it tells me to open the message on my phone - it won't let me read the message on the watch. Help! WhatsApp seems to work fine, I can read messages and reply to them. I have set both Facebook and Messenger to send notifications to the watch in the Wearable app on my phone - what else do I need to do?
