Model references and type cast

I am working with a custom data which is represented in a set of schemas. Since each schema can  have duplicate names, I am thinking of

- Creating a model for each schema

- Each model, having a container can reside in its own URL

However, I have a question related to casting. For example,  how should following situation be handled.

http://core-model/Base/Model2.DerivedClass

where Base is defined in core model, whereas Derived class is defined in Model2, and served at http://model2.

Is there a better way of handling such cases?
