We had a great group of guys out for the Carbon Canyon Century

It was a great day on the bike Saturday and thanks to everyone who came out.

My photos from the day are at https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZeHScj5qaPpzoyQw8

The following are the initial results … please let me know your mileages.

Chuck Bramwell – 79 Miles + 6 To/From and 4,108 Feet of Climbing at https://www.strava.com/activities/6285218969 - This was a good hard ride for me.  I’m in the dugout and will need to work hard to dig myself out in 2022.  😊

Careon J – 79 Miles?

Greg Kibble – 79 Miles and 3,740 Feet of Climbing at https://www.strava.com/activities/6285300464 - Greg had a rear tubeless flat at mile 18.

Steve Loughran – 79 Miles?

Jim Neas – 80 Miles and 3,799 Feet of Climbing at https://www.strava.com/activities/6285424662

Larry Painter – 80 Miles and 3,904 Feet of Climbing at https://www.strava.com/activities/6285074812  Thank you for towing me the last 20 miles and for the selfie photo which I grabbed, Larry.

Mark Pero – 66 Miles and 2,982 Feet of Climbing at https://www.strava.com/activities/6285097314

Garth Powell – 79 Miles? – Garth was riding strong and may well have added Santiago Canyon at the end

James Remus – 80 Miles and 3,458 Feet of Climbing at https://www.strava.com/activities/6285181526

Dennis Thomas – 79 Miles and 3,547 Feet of Climbing at https://www.strava.com/activities/6290619599  who wrote: “Awesome day. Finished with 79.6 miles and 3,547 ft.  Best part of the day was seeing Chuck charge off the back, scream pass everyone, dive into the lead, and pull the group most of the way through Brea Canyon at a pace that would put a smile on Andy Hampton’s face. It was truly epic. Job Well Done Chuck!”

Thanks, Dennis, that was fun.  It was the least I could do after everyone waited for me on Diamond Bar Blvd.  I was dead on the climbs so I gave it full gas on Brea Canyon after Larry Painter got us off to a really good fast start.

I’m looking forward to more Saturday Centuries in the coming months.

Chuck
