On our last Carbon Canyon Century of 1/25/20, Dori Lewis was flying up Chino Hills Parkway with lots of Blue Sky
Then the pandemic grounded us all

98 Miles with 4,300 Feet of Climbing
106 Miles with 4,900 Feet of Climbing
Rain Cancels
Organized Cycling is back as we’re trying to emerge from the pandemic. It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost two years since we last rode the Carbon Canyon Century. Plus we were disappointed to be rained out on 10/23/21.
Let’s go inland Saturday to see Carbon Canyon, Brea Canyon, and if we have time, Santiago Canyon.
Dallas Raines is forecasting just a 3% chance of rain for Saturday for his friends in Chino Hills with nice temps of 50 - 71 at
http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/l/USCA0216:1:US
so we’ll have to see what he has in store for his friends in the O.C.
My Strava report from 11/05/11 with a map of 107.9 Miles and 5,398 Garmin Feet of Climbing is at http://app.strava.com/activities/2228474
Let me know if you can make it by replying to this e-mail. If there isn't enough interest in this ride, I may cancel it by announcing the cancellation on this e-mail list on Friday.
This route has lots of bail out options if you need to get home to mow the lawn. The 79 Mile option is a really good ride in and of itself with a great climb up Carbon Canyon. If you really want to challenge yourself, go for the 106 mile option and add a run up Silverado Canyon!!
My favorite part of the Carbon Canyon Century is flying down Brea Canyon with a good group and everyone taking strong and short pulls. You can see the party we had on 9/28/19 at https://photos.app.goo.gl/aHubgWdZY9KcwtMT6
The Route Slip is at
http://www.caltriplecrown.com/Centuries/CarbonCanyonCentury.xls
and printed copies will be available at the start of the ride. This is a great training ride with plenty of climbing on the 98 and 106 mile options.
This route has many opportunities to turn back if a shorter distance is desired ... so come join us whether you want to ride 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles ... or anything in between.
This ride will start at “The Square” (formerly Foodpark) in Irvine at Main and MacArthur at 7:30 A.M. sharp so you should arrive by 7:15 A.M. Main and MacArthur is near the intersection of the San Diego Freeway (405) and the Newport (55) Freeway. Take the MacArthur Blvd. exit from the San Diego (405) Freeway and turn North ... Main Street is the first street Northeast of the 405 Freeway. Meet in the Parking Lot behind the Starbucks.
See you then,
Chuck Bramwell
