MASS RALLY AND MARCH FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION
Union Park (Ashland and Lake)
Come make history in Chicago! This Saturday, the Chicago Teachers Union is calling on all union members, parents, students, faith-based communities, social justice activists and all others dedicated to fighting for better schools in Chicago to take part in a mass rally and march.
The rally comes as the Chicago Teachers near the completion of their first week on strike, and will mark the culmination of a week of pickets and huge daily rallies of tens of thousands.
“We are standing strong,” said Karen Lewis, CTU’s president. “Teachers and paraprofessionals will not return to work until we can reach an agreement that assures that teachers and our students will be treated fairly by CPS and the mayor.”
Chicago Teachers Union is not striking over any matter governed under Sections 4.5 and 12(b) of the IELRA.
