Proposal to Occupy Chicago for Moving Saturday General Assembly Into Chicago Neighborhoods:

After meeting and discussion about the limited involvement of People & Communities of Color in the Occupy Movement in Chicago, the "Occupy General Assembly Working/Action Group" (this name was kinda kicked around last night but we can certainly work on something shorter/ more fitting if we want), proposes that beginning August 18, 2012 Occupy Chicago holds 1 of the 2 bi-weekly General Assemblies in the Chicago area neighborhoods.

We wish to have the Saturday GA dedicated to the neighborhoods while keeping the Wednesday GA Downtown at the Horse.

We further propose that these weekly GAs are OFFICIAL (not optional nor additional) General Assemblies of OC which will include the format of OC GAs.

These GAs will provide a service and address issues that are specific to the neighborhood that is hosting the GA with opportunities for outreach before and/or after the GA itself

These GAs will run on a rotating neighborhood schedule with the first month being ran in the following order;
        8/18- Little Village
        8/25- Rogers Park
        9/1- Bronzeville
        9/8- Gage Park

Future neighborhoods will include; Englewood, Roseland, Woodlawn, Lawndale and others TBD.
