Dear colleagues,
another occultation event, now with a much narrower error bar. So, please reply to me if you want to receive further information on this event (in private if you wish).
One of the biggest Trojans, Ennomos, with about 90 km in diameter will occult a Gmag ~13.5 star in the night of the 07 to 08/May (see attached maps). The prediction error is of about the size of the object radius (14 mas) and only 3 seconds in time. The difficult part is that the event may last for only 5 seconds.
Observations should last for at least 3 minutes and start not later than 04:52 UT for observations from Brazil, 04:55 UT for observations from Peru and Bolivia, and 05:00 UT from Mexico and USA. Do not forget to have a good time reference.
Further information can be found here:
Two events by Ennomos were already observed but they did not allow good size and shape determinations, so now we have a good opportunity to well characterize this object (size, shape, albedo).
Clear skies,
Felipe and Josselin.
