Whenyou need to grip, hold, bend, crimp or clamp a pipe or rod of any shape, grab your multi grip pliers. For tightening or loosening fittings, they are adjustable and will be your most useful hand tool.

Early man, in the Bronze Age, used the forerunners to these tools to grasp hot metal, though they were more like tongs in those days. Today, with a rack and pinion slider to allow different sized grip settings, the self-gripping teeth will hold on to the item you want to secure. The long handles are cushioned for easy operation, ideal for use with one hand. High wear resistance on the jaws means that these strong tools will last you a very long time.

There are many types of pliers stocked by Tools.com, for serving different purposes. The multi grip selection includes combination, locking and gripping pliers with vice grips, slip joint and parrot pliers, needle nose pliers, as well as a whole range with Irwin's Trademarked Groovelock jaws.

Available jaw shapes include V-jaw, round jaw, notch jaw and straight jaw pliers. We stock multi grips for every purpose, from all of the best brand names associated with this type of hand tool: Channel Lock pliers, Crescent, Irwin, Milwaukee, Strong Hand Tools, Supatool and Knipex.

For more information, or to see the features and specifics of any of our multi grip pliers, simply click on the product image or give us a call today. Our friendly customer service representatives are more than happy to discuss all your requirements.

For sockets and ratchets, they are both supplied by major Taiwanese supplier Toptul (Rotar). The TTI ones have some extra features like the hex on the extensions and finer tooth count ratchets as standard, so I would go for TTI.

If you can wait for delivery, have a look on Amazon. Amazon Germany and Amazon Japan are now natively listed on Amazon Australia, so you get all that stuff on there for about half of what tool shops charge for German or Japanese brands.

Or, another example, Sidchrome ones (and a lot of the more expensive Sidchrome stuff) are rebadged Facom pliers (all within the Stanley group). They are Taiwanese-made too but pretty consistent quality.

Ended up buying (via ebay) a Unior (made in Slovenia) " ratchet; this item despite being over 20 years old and cosmetically rough shape is still (internally) solid as a rock. If the ratchet itself failed (which I can only see happening if I add a 900mm pole to the end of the ratchet) I can still buy brand new replacement parts...

When I lived in Oz, I had some TTI sockets; they were decent enough. What I liked about TTi (and I'm not sure if they still do it to this day) is that you can get your tools replaced relatively quickly and painlessly by visiting their store and exchanging the faulty tool...a bit like Repco pro line of tools...

Still looking. Is there anywhere to get a set of kincrome ones? I would go repco ad i like their tools but they seem to be getting discontinued as they are either limited stock, no stock at all available or on clearance.

I tend to want lifetime warranty ones.

I own Knipex and have used NWS, Channellock, Rothenberger and Kincrome at work. Knipex and NWS are both made in Germany and have aggressive teeth that grip noticeably better than others. Channellock are made the US and have the smoothest operation but much less aggressive teeth. Rothenberger and Kincrome don't really have stand out features but work well enough.

I'd recommend Knipex as they're good quality and the price isn't as inflated as with other premium tools, like socket sets. It's difficult to say anything definite about the quality of any of the brands that use the big Taiwanese manufacturers because their products change regularly.
