Thankyou, I realized was selecting the wrong file. Unfortunately, extracting the .EXE using either 7-Zip or from Windows and then attempting to perform the upgrade with the ilo5_140.bin file generates this error:
I was tring install an ESXi6.7 U1 on DL360 Gen10 though iLO5. The installation failed couple of time(this is a main issue but out of scope of this paticular thread) and I've got this message says "Ingelligent Provisioning" needs to be reinstalled. So I downloaded the ISO image(3.00.382) and installed it. The installation seemed sucis cessfully completed. And then the iLO said there is an update(3.20.154) available so I initiated update though iLO, however; it neither completed or failed but kept showing the message "Waiting to be processed... 0%" on the Job Viewer for the last couple of days.
Thank you for the advice. As instructed in the doc you suggested, I've looked at the "Firmware & OS Software- Installation Queue" tab to remove the on-going process but it says "You don't have any installation tasks at the moment." but on the remote Console "Job Viewer" says "Attempt Firmware Update - Waiting to be processed... 0%" at the same time. Please see the screenshot below.
I checked the IP, GW, DNS multiple times and even rebooted the server multiple times but no luck. There is another exactly same server installed at the same time and connected to the same network has no issue of updating firmware.
Since the version is currently running on 1.37, and the minimum requirement of the 2.14 version is 1.40, you will first need to update it to 1.40 or above. After that you can update it to version 2.14.
Additionally to that my server also tells me that the firmware of the innovation engine (whatever that may be) needs to be re-flashed. Unfortunately it doesn't let me do that because it hangs in POST.
I'm at 1.37 on multuple ESX hosts. I followed the steps and attempted 1.40, and still getting the same error. I even tried 1.39 and still see the same error. What am I missing? is there a fix for this?
Thank you!! this should really be documented somewhere, i just renamed the file to .zip and then used windows 'Extract All' option - it's currently flashing.. presumably once i've done this i can just use the fwpkg file as is for future upgrades..
Thanks so much, this is a very useful resource. Everybody who like me has to search HP for firmware, then try to figure out how to extract relevant files from iso-scexe-whatsoever strange archives, will agree ? I hope this effort will continue. Thanks again, Paul
This is a great resource; HPE is absolutely making it more and more difficult to be their customer with failing web site; failing Intelligent Provisioning firmware updates and failing ftp site. Thank you for putting this together!
hello o want to update ilo3 on dl380 g7 to the latest version but because my ilo version is 1.15 i cant do it . i understand that i need to install 1.20 first and then the latest one . but nowhere even here i couldnt find ilo 3 1.20 . can you please help me ?
Many thanks, this is the only internet place where I can found ILO 2 latest firmware.
They are disappeared from hp site, I think they must write less infringement coiright letters and better organize their downloads!
thanks for all the latest firmwares, keep up the good work!
but having a strange issue with ilo3 1.89
uploads fine and flashes fine, but when run the web applet after downloaded,
im getting an error saying
Ignored exception: ExitException[ 3]com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource: _231.jar

The Fixes sections on the website says:
iLO 4 version 2.75(b) was released with a packaging update. The update does not affect the firmware functionality. If version 2.75 was previously deployed to target device, then it is not necessary to update to version 2.75(b)
binary firmware files are identical in both versions:

Please make it clear at the top of the page that these images are for the HP ProLiant ILO series only. HP Integrity servers also have ILO and ILO2, but the Integrity ILO images are incompatible with the ProLiant ILO images. Otherwise a great page of ILO image links!
Good night, I have an ML150 Gen9 with an expired warranty contract and I need to update the BIOS, mine is version 2.60 (P95) does anyone have above it to update? I need to install windows server 2016 or 2019.
Did you notice that as part of the latest SPP for Gen10 a version 2.42 of the firmware for iLO 5 is included (cp046458.exe)?
The only way I can find to download the file is by downloading the SPP.
Thank you, It really is a pain that HP have a habit of re-organising their sites such that they break links.
I can usually find the firmware after several searches and the opening of several tabs, but this really makes life far easier.

For those of you who want to extract the firmware from the Linux rpm package, gnutar is able to extract all the files from the Linux download. macos version of tar seems to be gnutar and can also extract all the files. You can see below.
Just wanted to say that not being a sys admin with any experience of server maintenance, with your post, I managed to solve the issue of my gen8 server fans going completely bonkers (it even caused 3 fans to fail)
So, trying to mass update ILO5 on Gen10 Blades on a C7000 chassis using the UPDATE command from my Onboard Administrators running v4.80. Haven't tried this with Gen10s before, been doing it for years with previous versions.
Previous versions are still working great. However, when I tried the above command to update all Gen10 Blades, my Onboard Administrator crashed and rebooted. Wondering if anyone has tried this before and is seeing the same issue? Looks like the OA ran out of memory from the logs:
ILO5 Firmware is double the size of ILO4 (32MB vs 16MB), so I'm guessing that contributed. Just wondering if this is a supported operation. I'm not seeing anything that says it's not. I don't have a ton of Gen10 Servers, but I would prefer to not have to update those individually if I have to...
While doing firmware update for multiple blades OA will attempt to download firmware for a blade while another download is in progress so there are chances that it may fail since it download the same file everytime before first download complete.
I tried 4 BL460s only and it still died. And because of change management, I cannot just upgrade the OA. Neither do I have time to muck about trying different versions etc. This should just work, like it did in the past.
The only problem what i saw was a very inconsistent behavior, between different iLO5 systems. All had the same 3.04 firmware but shown different behaviors.
It looks like that different used storage controllers, have the most impact if it is running smoothly or not.
In the end i would say, if you see your storage controller inside iLO web interface then you can also retrieve the data over the REST API. I had also 1 or 2 systems where the storage controller data was missing inside web and then there where also no data over API.
I can confirm this, ILO5 firmware version 3.05 still has issues.
The drives (logical & physical are now detected correctly.
But the hardware controller & fan checks now crash.
Amazing that this takes so long to fix. The quality of the releases is below par.
The Integrated Software Update Manager (iSUT) service in the OS can monitor the iLO repository content. If there is something new, it pulls the update and then installs firmware and drivers inside the OS. A reboot is usually necessary afterwards. No more booting from the SPP ISO Image for firmware updates and you can specify several server stages or even reboot a number of times.
Starting with iLO 5 firmware version 3.03, the @nicId naming schema isconsistent across device types for supported devices. It is a string containing one or more characters in therange [0-9], with the following specification:
Fabrics resource contains properties describing a simple fabric consisting of one or more switches with zero or more endpoints, and zero or more zones. Each Fabrics is involved in routing a data packet from routers from one end to other end.
iLO 5 v2.72 supports enabling and disabling of HTTP and HTTPS ports separately using Redfish APIs. Ensure you enable both HTTP and HTTPS, if you want to downgrade the firmware below iLO 5 v2.72, else the web server will not start.
From iLO 5 2.72 release, HPE Insight Online direct connect is deprecated. HPE supports only Insight Remote Support central connect. If you are using HPE Insight Online direct connect, HPE recommends to unregister Insight Online direct connect and register with Insight Remote Support central connect. For more information, refer to the HPE embedded remote support section of the HPE iLO 5 2.72 User Guide.
#Port.v1_5_0.Port - The HPE iLO 5 Redfish service implements the Port schema in this release as the NetworkPort schema will be deprecated in favor of the Port schema. The NetworkPort URIs will work as expected for all future releases from iLO 5 v2.65.
Several resource URIs have been changed to conform to Redfish 1.6. A properly written Redfish client which traverses the data model and finds the URIs dynamically should not be affected, but clients which make assumptions about URIs may require modifications.
