I'm trying to make a suggestion event in one channel, I'm trying to put many layers of protection on it, trying to test it in many ways ect.. However, after I thought I was done with the testing stage, I was wrong, one of my testers had an issue, each time they tried to send a message that's length is lower than the minimum (25) it seemed to crash, and it confused the sh*t out of me, as I always could do it and nothing happens, I started debugging, and added catch onto every message.delete() function, and guess what, ALL of them bug out, yet, they still delete the message for me, but for Ameer (The Tester) it just crashes without even deleting their message.
deletable checks Whether the message is deletable by the client user.We are using .catch(() => null); since catching errors isn't really needed here while deleting a message. Discord API throws 10008 only when the message exists no more. Most of the big bots like mine [50k guilds] are likely to follow this while deleting thousands of messages. Silencing this error is the only way. Also, join the official discord.js server for faster responses.
I have already made all of the proper imports and I have tried looking for answers from other posts but it seems to not quite fit my issue. I am trying to randomly send a message, which I can do. However I can not seem to delete the messages after a certain cool down time. The cool down time is not the issue however. It is deleting the bots message. I know how to delete a user's message but I have very little idea on how I would delete the bots message. Any help would be nice. Here is my code with the exception of my token ID and imports.
Hello everyone, this may sound/look like this question has been asked before on stack overflow but it hasn't. I've been looking around for a while and been reading documentation yet I still don't understand/don't know how to implement the thing i'm talking about into my code.
I have a problem where on discord I am trying to see if a user sent a message which has m!verify in it and after they send that message in 0.5 seconds (i.e) the message is deleted. I've looked around and seen similar questions like these but none of them solve my problem.
Note: Linking any documentation or tutorials that have the EXACT same answer I'm looking for (in the comments and not as an answer) would be really useful. (I promise I have looked at lots of documentation) :). I am also using slappey to generate my commands.
After confirming the deletion of your account, you will receive an email that your Discord account is set to be deleted and will be deactivated for the next 14 days. During this time, you can undo the deletion at any time.
I have recently noticed that my 8-year-old MacBook is slow when loading webpages, and I started going through my files to get rid of old stuff. After a while, I came across a file called "discord.dmg". I think this was the file used to install Discord on my computer, but now I am wondering if I can delete the .dmg without getting rid of the application.
A disk image file (.dmg) is simply an easy, portable structure to transfer an app to you without falling afoul of any internet 'oddities' such as compression, splitting etc. So long as the .dmg arrives intact [& it is self-checking in this regard] then you can be sure it arrived "as sent" & can copy it to your Applications folder. Once you have done that, the .dmg itself is no longer required & can just be deleted.
I would say that you can but you may find keeping some or all may save you a lot of aggro one day. Last year I had a problem with my - under guarantee- iMac. It had to be reset to zero with a complete reinstall. Then my old MacBook Air had a major problem and I replaced it with a new MBA. In both cases I lost all my applications. I was using an old version of Filemaker Pro. And FM now no longer allow downloads of the .dmg. Only backups. I was very glad that I kept the original .dmg (400mb). I had kept the dmgs of my important applications and reinstalling them was made much easier. Perhaps you have a dozen of dmgs. So store them on a USB KEY. or even a sd camera type card. 16gb or 32gb is plenty large enough. You will thank me one day.
Is there an easy way to mass delete messages from a Discord channel? It's one of Discord's most requested features and is very helpful if a channel gets flooded with spam messages. The alternative is manually deleting almost every message in the server.
I tested the code (which i provided) and it works just fine and can delete any specified message.
Just look at the code you wrote and try to understand the hierarchy. Why you trying to get channel before guild? Also why are you storing basic information in .env file? And i hope use using quotes on specified IDs.
To delete a specific command, you will need its id. Head to Server Settings -> Integrations -> Bots and Apps and choose your bot. Then, right click a command and click Copy ID.
Discord's API doesn't currently provide an easy way to delete guild-based commands that occur on multiple guilds from all places at once. Each will need a call of the above endpoint, while specifying the respective guild and command id. Note, that the same command will have a different id, if deployed to a different guild!
For reasons I won't go into I have banned Discord for my children and deleted the app from their phones. One of my children has figured out how to go into the purchase history and redownload it. How can I permanently delete apps from purchase history, not just hide them? And is there a way to block the app through screen time somehow? I do have screen time set up so that I have to approve all downloads but since it's in purchase history it does not ask. Please help mama out!
I wanted to add a functionality that would delete the command msg which we type to invoke bot. I wanted to know what permissions should be given so as to allow the bot to delete msg. Do I need to select administrator permission in discord developer portal?
Deleting a thread in Discord is easy, but you'll need to have the right permission levels in order to do it. It's important to understand that when you delete a thread, all of its contents will be permanently removed and can't be recovered.
IFTTT and Discord integrate with each other to make it easy for you to automate how you use Discord. With IFTTT, you can create automations that will delete a thread in Discord when certain conditions are met, or even have threads automatically deleted after a specified period of time. This way, you won't have to worry about deleting old threads manually and can spend more time focusing on managing conversations and moderating your server.
To get started using IFTTT with Discord, the first step is to sign up for an account and link your Discord account with IFTTT. After this setup is complete, creating an automation to delete a thread in Discord is easy. All you need to do is select the "Discord" service from IFTTT.
Once deleted, the thread is gone for good and can't be recovered. It's always a good idea to make sure you have backup copies of any data or conversations you want to keep before removing them from Discord.
If you don't want to delete a thread altogether, there is another option: archiving. When you archive a thread, it will be hidden from view in the main list of conversations but can still be accessed if needed. To archive a thread in Discord, all you need to do is right-click on it and select "Archive" from the context menu that appears.
You can also use IFTTT to automate how you archive threads in Discord as well. Automating this process with IFTTT can help make sure your conversations stay organized and clutter-free by archiving old threads at regular intervals or even when certain conditions are met.
What is the output of dpkg --no-pager -l discord ?
Please try the amd64 version from here -io/etcher/releases/download/v1.5.79/balena-etcher-electron_1.5.79_amd64.deb ?
Or do you have a 32bit computer ?
More snap versions are stored by the system after snap package updates. Meaning that for each installed snap package that had updates, you could have several revisions stored on your system, thus taking up quite a bit of disk space.
There is a snap option (starting with snapd version 2.34), called refresh.retain, to set the maximum number of a snap's revisions stored by the system after the next refresh, which can be set to a number between 2 and 20. You can change this from the default value of 3 to 2 by using:
Core is required for snap to function, it has the program's core runtime. The gnome snaps are a pack of basic apps (calculator, system-monitor, etc). The base gnome-3-34 snaps are dependencies for the various gnome apps. Code is vscode.
Snap lets you easily roll-back to previous versions in case you want to. This leads to a lot of disk space being taken up, especially if an app and its dependencies are heavy. The other answer details how to limit this.
If you delete the snaps properly (through snap remove) yes, most of them can be removed. Removing files manually with sudo rm is dangerous. Some programs have files littered around the system and removing only part of them can cause issues and, sometimes, may need a reinstall to fix.
If a package is installed through a manager (snap in this case), you should always uninstall it via the same manager.
Since you removed files manually, snap can't find all the parts it needs to function and fails. You'll want to reinstall it with the following (note this will likely remove config files for snap and its programs, if that is an issue back them up):
This module uses the Python logging module to log diagnostic and errorsin an output independent way. If the logging module is not configured, these logs will not be output anywhere. See Setting Up Logging formore information on how to set up and use the logging module withdiscord.py.
Right now this involves on_socket_raw_receive() and on_socket_raw_send(). Ifthis is False then those events will not be dispatched (due to performance considerations). To enable these events, this must be set to True. Defaults to False.
