Out next TRAIL BLAZER EVENT is APRIL 16-18, 2010

JOSHUA TREE CAMPOUT-HIKE TO SECRET CASTLE (this is our rained out
December event)

Where: Cottonwood Campground (group site 1 has been reserved)

We are staying on the south side of the park. Head east of Indio on
I-10 about 24 miles, then into the park about 8 miles.

Friday night campfire and star gazing.

On Saturday, we will hike to Secret Castle, a moderate to difficult
hike, but can be done with kids age 10 and older. This hike is not
listed in guide books because of its remoteness and to protect its
unique historical interest. The castle is a rock house built into the
side of a boulder outcrop by a prospector at his mine site. The hike
is 9 miles round trip, has 1400 ft of elevation gain, and will take
about 6 hours. For those who may find this hike too much of a
challenge, there are many other easier hikes near the camp ground to
occupy the day.

Sunday- explore the south park, may 4x4 Berdoo Canyon

There will be no cost for this trip other than shared food preparation/
responsibilities.
RSVP to the list BY April 1, SO THAT WE CAN COORDINATE MEAL DUTIES.
