"rake preview" running successfully , but I can see nothing from localhost:4000

Thanks for anybody  who come in. I  new with octpress, Actually, I have just installed octpress  yesterday. 

However, after all installing procedure was carried out, I execute the "rake preview" command.

The server seems worked well.But when I attempt to visit the website "localhost:4000" ,only a blank page can be seen. 

and the server returns a "404" code.

I don't understand why it happends like this.

Octpress3.0 was used.

This is the same issue I'm having. I just started using octopress today, and I'm hitting the same wall you're hitting. I wonder if it's because the octopress guide is not updated for Octopress 3.0 yet.

Octopress 3.0 runs with "jekyll build" & "jekyll watch" rather than "rake preview". Try that.

I had the same issue and I resolved it by copying the blog folder from the source folder to the outside blog folder and use rake preview again and It will work.
