Hi everyone,

I have a board with a standard 6-pin male connector, S1011EC-06-ND from Digikey.  This is a 'Value Added' part that Digikey always has in stock.  When I query the Octopart API, however, I get that the stock quantity is 0 rather than something like -2 to indicate that the product is in stock but there is no information on how many per the API documentation here:
https://octopart.com/api/docs/v3/rest-api#notes-partoffer.in_stock_quantity

I'm not sure if it's possible to fix this but it would be useful to me and probably other people since I use the octopart API to automatically price BOMs and I would like to exclude distributors from the pricing routine if they don't have enough stock to satisfy my order.  However, because Digikey value-added parts show up as a stock of 0, they get filtered out and reported as non-stock even though they are in stock.

Hope this is helpful for the Octopart people if they're looking for more work to do...

Best,
Tim

Hi Tim,

Thanks for letting us know about the problem! We'll follow up with Digi-Key and see if there's a better solution.
