Based in the Los Angeles area, Rhythm In Mind is a dark electronic artist and percussionist who mixes programmed experimental progressions with live primal rhythms. Rhythm in Mind, is the brainchild of renowned sound engineer, percussionist, and music tech Eric Beam, who is also the primary mastering engineer for Octofoil Records.
Fellow Octofoil artist Maduro has described Eric's work as "both the most technical and sonically diverse sound in ethnoindustrial music."

2009 - A Retrospective
2009 was the second year in business for Octofoil Records - and business was very good. The year started off with vending at Exposure with other local DC industrial/experimental record labels. Octofoil rereleased digitally Maduro's two albums from Eventide Music Production - Shimmer Sustain and Juno Wakes. Vending followed in Georgia, California, and Pennsylvania for dance festivals and at DC's industrial dance club Spellbound. The Maduro & Notecrusher collaborative worldtronic meets dubstep album "Your Devices" was released to international acclaim, being featured by DJ Pathaan on BBC Asian Radio. Octofoil released the Maduro dark dubstep side project - Darkened "Flipside." Out of the local DC metro area industrial electronic rock scene, Octofoil signed Retrogramme and released their stellar EP "Seasons of Scars" which has already appeared on BBC Radio as well. In addition to Retrogramme, Octofoil Records signed Eric Beam's primal percussive analog sound project "Rhythm in Mind" and released "Flow" digitally on itunes, emusic, amazon, and rhapsody - this release has been much anticipated by dancers and sound enthusiasts alike for some time.
For 2010, look for a SERVITOR SANCTUM 7 signing and release. We are incredibly impressed with their demo of afro-industrial tribal stompy goodness, which (like Rhythm in Mind) mixes live drumming with industrial programming. Our friends from Shakra Dance turned us on to these guys - simply amazing and fresh! Also look for a new untitled Maduro full length album in the Spring and multitudes of experimental electronic efforts, more vending, and more merchandise. We continue to support independent artists and projects that embody integrity and concurrently push boundaries.
