Our meeting was very encouraging and I appreciate your coming out and
wanting to be involved. I am having to head to Miami tonight for

Also, please reach folks in Gainesville who want to help with our
event. With what's been going on there today (a march of 300 students
on the PD), we need our event promoted there. I'd like to invite
Andrew Meyer to speak at our event. I am rushing so here is my
reportback.
Update:
Logistics: Jeanie,Hollinger,Terminello, Denise and John are working
on getting the venue. They have Deborah Booth from the central labor
council working on our permit for the day. John is looking into
outdoor restrooms. It's looking likely.
Planning: Jesse, mike, and eric are working on contacting speakers for
the event. I made a contact who may be able to help us with sound and
stage. we want a diverse group of speakers. local and regional. So
far we have 2 big speakers lined up. I will share their names on
Sunday.
Outreach: The group is having a chat meeting sometime in the near
future and will begin calling statewide organizations, begining with
our own region and will ask for contact lists from organizers in other
regions (north and south and west). They need to make a calendar of
meetings, events, and such for us to hit in the next few weeks to urge
and gain support. Outreach has committed that every number we get
will be called! That's commitment! Someone should be assigned to
create a myspace for OCT 27 - Orlando Massive Peace Rally. Someone
will take over the facebook group from me. Someone will begin writing
talking points for speaking engagements. ALL will speak to those they
know and other organizations they meet with.
Media: Working on compiling list of media organizations around the
state. will be done within 2 weeks. Working on writing press
releases, and spots for local am radio. Will make all information in
spanish and english.
John and maTT are working on solidifying endorsements from local
leaders of all communities... if you know of an endorser
(organization) please pass them to us so we can organize them.
Our next meeting is on Sunday at 2pm on the third floor of the Orange
County Main Library in Downtown Orlando. We are working on setting up
a conference call for non-locals to dial in on. Please designate all
questions to your committee chairs.
We should be on the oct27 website by tomorrow.
ALL will speak to those they know and other organizations they meet
with.
ALL will seek donations at every speaking engagement. If you need
help doing this, call me. I got 50 bucks the other night just for
saying that we were looking for donations of all amounts and we know
that some people have done well in life. WE NEED THEIR HELP.
Also.... central florida iraq war moratorium is on Friday... we can
chat more before/during/after. Let's keep the juices flowing and
share ideas. Please call me if you need to speak in the next few
days. John and I will be at the FLIC conference on Friday. Good
place to partner. Outreach, please get ready to hit some churches on
Sundays.... other meetings during the weeks.
