Bring signs, megaphones, t-shirts and flyers... we are letting the streets of Orlando know that we're ready to take them over on October 27.
At this demonstration, we will pass out flyers to pedestrians and passing vehicles to inform them of next week's peace rally/march.
Please spread the word today and we hope to see you there.

October 27th Coordinating Committee Meeting
3rd Floor: Orlando/Orange County Public Library
Sunday, October 14, 2007
The meeting began at 2:20 pm with roughly 25 in attendance. Groups represented included Central FL MDS, Code Pink, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Orlando Progressive Alliance, Progressive Democrats of America, and UCF SDS. After introductions, Leslie K. agreed to chair.
Reports: Outreach Committee (Sam)
Several endorsements are still awaited.
The Catholic Diocese of Orlando declined to endorse the event.
Melissa went to an environmental meeting to solicit participation in the event.
Jeannie wants lists of those who've been contacted and those who've endorsed.
Jay expressed concern about generating local turn-out.
Everyone who has contacted anyone should email that info to Sam tonight.
Matt volunteered to do a spreadsheet that will show all the info we have, and that should alleviate some of the anxiety.
Matt asked about spending $250 to $300 to produce 10,000 flyers.
Matt & John B. will take care of putting together & sending out 100 press packets.
Reports: Logistics
John B. reported that permitting is well under way, and probably the permit costs will be waived.
Port-a-potties will be left by a previous event, so we don't need to worry about that.
John B. said he'd contacted lawyers from throughout the southeast and there will be a legal observer team at the event.
Jeannie is looking into obtaining walk-talkies, if those can't be found, everyone should be sure to charge and bring along their cell phones.
Sheri H. asked for a prioritized funding list. After some discussion, it was decided this included possible permit costs and press packet costs.
Jeannie suggested a water distribution system be put in place.
Reports: Program Committee (Leslie K.)
Leslie expressed concern there were too many (13) confirmed speakers. Originally there were supposed to have been only 8.
Leslie will work with the committee chairs and others interested to whittle the number back down to 8 and/or limit the time allotted to each speaker.
Reports: Media Committee (Jeff G.)
Jeff talked about a press release going out statewide.
Oct. 27th Coordinating Committee meeting of 10-14-2007, page two
Jeff said he and/or other members of his committee will be contacting out of state college weekly newspapers.
It was reported that George Crossley will be broadcasting the event live through radio.
The Orlando Weekly will have an item about the costs of the war in this week's issue and a blurb about the event in next week's issue.
Sheri H. announced there will be another conference call on Oct. 17th.
Jesse K. announced he will be on WMNF at 1:00 pm on Oct. 19th.
The Coordinating Meeting then broke down into the separate committees as noted above, at approx. 3:45 pm.
The respective committees continued to meet until approx. 4:30 pm, when all finished and the meeting unofficially adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Jay D. Jurie,
