Installing Octadist on windows

Hi I am having issues installing Octadist on windows. When I try to run the program I get the error below:

Hi, I need more details:

How did you install the program? 

What versions of OctaDist and Windows?

Did you download and run an executable file (.exe) and then get this error?

Hi Emil,

I also got the same errors. But when I saved the cif file as .xyz file and imported it to Octadist, it worked without any issues. So please try .xyz file instead your cif file.

Hi Jayajeewana,

I ended up using an older version of OctaDist and somehow that worked. Its a great tool! One suggestion would be to include other metal ions than just tansition elements.

Thanks for the feedback. I will have a look and improve OctaDist better. 

Reading CIF file is quite tricky, so XYZ file is preferable.

Including metal ions apart from transition metals is a nice idea. Stay tuned for an update!
