David L. Bigler

 Accomplishment:

Winner of the Spur Award for best Western nonfiction historical book.

 Details: Roseville resident Bigler and co-writer Will Bagley won the award from the Western Writers of America for their book "The Mormon Rebellion: American's First Civil War, 1857-1858." The Spur Awards are for distinguished writing about the American West.

 Dave is an OCTA member and as a CA-NV-HI Chapter member in late 1980s and early 1990, began planning the 1991 Sacramento OCTA Convention, before moving to Salt Lake City, where he organized the OCTA Utah Crossroads Chapter.

 The name was changed later to CA-NV Chapter.

 Glad to have him back in California for these past years.
