Iron Angels Solvang Area Ride -- Sunday June 12th
9:00 am - 3:00ish pm
Meet Point: Roxford Chevron in Sylmar, CA
Mark your calendars for the Iron Angels March ride. All are welcome to join us.
We will be meeting in Sylmar to ride to the Solvang area for lunch at Cold Springs Tavern. This ride has bee rescheduled twice already due to rain in December 2010 & March 2011 so let's hope for good weather! Third time's a charm!
This will be a longer & pleasant ride with mostly sweepers and a few twisties for intermediate/experienced riders. We will enjoy a ride to Ojai &... the Solvang/Los Olivos area, then have lunch at Cold Spring Tavern in Santa Barbara off the San Marcos Pass. This ride will cover over 200 miles roundtrip from the LA area.
Meet Time: 9:00 a.m., clutches out 9:15 a.m. sharp
Meet Point: Roxford Chevron in Sylmar @ 12881 Encinitas Ave (just off the Roxford Exit from the I-5 Fwy)
Here is the general route:
Head West on Roxford & take Sepulveda N
L- San Fernando--turns into The Old Road, Turn L to stay on The Old Rd
R- Rye Canyon
L- Newhall Ranch Rd--turns into 126W
R- 10th ST/CA-150 to Ojai & stay on 150
Take 101 N to Carpinteria for gas (80 miles from Sylmar)
From 101 N -- Take State St exit toward CA-154/Cachuma Lake
(L on State St the R onto San Marcos Pass/CA-154)
L- CA-246W/Mission Dr to Solvang (possible gas)
Head toward Los Olivos
(R- Alamo Pintado Rd, turn R to stay on Alamo Pintado Rd, L- Grand)
R- CA-154/San Marcos Pass (heading SE) for 20 miles
R-Stagecoach Rd. (Cold Spring Tavern: 5995 Stagecoach Rd)
Roundtrip back to Carpinteria will be about 95 miles for gas.
