Asa big proponent of using up craft supplies from my stash, I thought it was time to tackle the leftover scrap yarn pile, and make something useful. Time for some Scrap-busting Stash-busting!!
Yes, this is beyond lovely! I have a hard time finding yarn cakes that I like so this is the perfect solution to that struggle! But that does bring me to a different struggle.. Do you perhaps also have any tips on how to roll the yarn into neat balls using only your hands?
Your instructions on the Russian join are so clear! The pictures help, too. My daughter and I made 87 knit and crochet hats in 5.5 weeks for a local elementary school. We used up some uglies by combining with a strand of nice, and the results were stunning! Now I want to make a magic ball with smaller leftovers. Thanks!

Being fairly new to climbing, this was my first time buying chalk. I knew I didn't want loose chalk, makes too much of a mess and is wasteful. Googled chalk socks and this came up - some reviews said not enough chalk comes out of the sock but I disagree, it disperses a semi-even coating and doesn't get all over the place. Will definitely use this sock for the foreseeable future. Only question is what chalk does it come with? Is the unicorn fine chalk?
PRO TIP: I fill my chalk balls with Unicorn dust but it's still rather chunky, so I take my chalk and put it in the NutriBullet to make it super fine and powdery. It prolongs chalk life also, so you're even better for the planet in the long run. It lasts way longer and you won't get big chunks flying out at the gym and crag. TRY IT!
The chalk is very good. I bought the original chalk sock about four years ago and the drawstring broke rather quickly but it was good chalk and the one sock worth of chalk lasted me about 3 years of semi-regular climbing. I didn't think I would care about chalk brand but the replacement chalk I bought was definitively inferior to this chalk.
The magic pro is just a sock. I read a review that said it was just a sock and I thought sure, isn't every chalk ball essentially a sock? But when I got it and went to investigate the high tech hardware free closure system...its just a sock that you twist and fold back over itself. I don't regret buying this sock, but I was a bit disappointed by its pure sockiness.

Precious objects, rich in suggestion and mystery, aimed at professional divination: they are the magic spheres with wooden support and accompanied by an instruction booklet. Available in five sizes, identifiable by the diameter.
Once students have been introduced to the different directions of up, down, forward, backward, and sideways (for grade 2 students: may wish to bespecific with "right" and "left"), let them know they will be moving to a"Magic Ball" today. What's magic about it is that whenever the ballmoves, they will move, too!Have the students move to a self space, using the space markers if desired.Make sure all the students can see and hear you well. Holding the "magicball", begin to slowly move it in different directions around your body. The children should follow the movements of the ball. Be sure to mix thedirections up, sometimes going at a faster speed and sometimes slower, tokeep the suspense up! For example:Move the ball down to the ground: students sink or melt as far down as the ball goes; if it goes to the floor, students lay on the floor;Begin to move the ball up; students rise along with the ball;Move the ball up and down more quickly; students jump up and down;Move the ball sideways to the right or left; students move right or left as far as the ball moves;Push the ball away from your middle for "forwards"; move it toward your middle for "backwards".Note:This activity can also be used to assess students' knowledge of thedifferent directions. As you move the "magic ball" up, down, right, left, etc., have the students write down the specific direction it was moved inon their paper. You may wish to post the direction words on a wall nearbyto aid students in spelling the words, or you may encourage them to spellthe best they can.

The magic ball is Twinsen's main weapon. It can be thrown to enemies, inflicting a certain amount of damage depending on the magic level, but it can also be thrown to levers, activating them, or to keys, picking them up.
The ball can be thrown in different trajectories depending on the behaviour of Twinsen, and will bounce on different surfaces a couple of times before returning to him. Each ball throw consumes 1/2 MP and if he doesn't have any, it can still be thrown, but it won't bounce. In LBA2, by pressing the fire button again while the ball is en-route, the player can make it return prematurely.
As Twinsen acquires new levels of magic as the plot progresses, the Magic Ball is upgraded to Green Ball, Red Ball and finally Fire Ball. Each upgrade allows it to hurt new kinds of enemies and deal more damage to previous ones. Enemies that can be hit with a ball of a certain color are generally styled in the same color. Twinsen's hand-to-hand attack and his Car's cannon can hit the same enemies as his current level of Ball can.
LBA: "Magic Ball. Each time you reach a higher level of magic, the Magic Ball's striking power will increase. Its trajectories will also become more effective with each new level, as long as you have enough magic in stock! The Ball will use up magic each time it is thrown."
