Hi all,
Join us for our Monthly Meeting on May 7 at 7:00 PM at Sandy Creek Nature Center (205 Old Commerce Rd, Athens, GA). Dr. Heather Kirk-Ballard will present “
Branching Out for Wildlife: Choosing Trees That Support Birds and Biodiversity.”
Dr. Kirk-Ballard is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in UGA’s Department of Horticulture. Her work focuses on developing educational programs that promote environmentally friendly landscaping practices and sustainable urban landscapes.
Bob Ambrose, our speaker from last month, will have copies of his new book,
Thirteen Moons and a Day — Poems on Seasons Relived, available for purchase at the meeting. Books will be $20, with proceeds generously split between the ORAS chapter and the publisher. If you’re interested, please plan to bring cash or a check.
This will be our last monthly lecture before we break for the summer. Our Annual ORAS Potluck will be held at 5:30 PM on June 4 at the Lake Herrick Pavilion—more details to come.
Cheers,
David Tilson
President, Oconee Rivers Audubon Society
