Please note that the current weather forecast for Mansfield is 95% chance of rain. In the event of a complete washout or forecast thunderstorms we will be cancelling the Charlie Elliott trip.

Field Trip to Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center
Saturday, May 2⋅7:00am – 3:00pm
Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center
Mansfield, GA 30055, USA
Join us for a field trip to the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center south of Mansfield. We will carpool from the Shops of South Athens Shopping Center on South Milledge Avenue (behind the Waffle House), leaving at 7:00 AM. We expect to arrive around 8:00 AM and will likely bird until noon or 1:00 PM, depending on how good the birding is.
For those meeting us there, we will not meet at the nature center at the main entrance. Instead, meet at Teal Pond on Shepard Road, a couple of miles south of Marben Farm Road entrance. We will be mostly driving from point to point within the Center, but will venture from the cars on foot from time to time.
Note: Each participant needs some form of DNR license to be on many of the sections we will be visiting. The least expensive option is a fishing license. These may be puchased here.
Field trips are open to the public and welcome birders of all ages and experience levels. Bring binoculars, water, insect repellent, and snacks if desired, and dress for the weather with comfortable shoes.
