There is an upcoming public seminar that may be of interest
to birders and nature enthusiasts:
“The Nature of
Oaks” — a talk by Doug Tallamy
Thursday, March 26

Tate Student Center, UGA Campus
Free registration required
The seminar (flyer attached) is organized by the Georgia Tree Network (https://warnell.uga.edu/georgia-tree-network), a stakeholder group coordinated by the UGA Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.
The speaker, Dr. Douglas W Tallamy, is a renowned author, professor in the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, and the founder of the Homegrown National Park initiative (https://homegrownnationalpark.org/doug-tallamy/). An engaging speaker, Dr. Tallamy is known for highlighting the vital role native plants play in supporting insects and the birds that depend on them.
The event will begin with a reception featuring tabling by
organizations in the Network, including ORAS, followed by the talk. To assist
with planning, free registration is required:
