iOS6 social.framework question

Hi Folks,

Hope this message finds everyone well.

I'm working on an app for a client that features Facebook integration. We're using the social.framework to do this as my client does NOT want to use the Facebook SDK for iOS.

Social.framework has been great so far:

- facebook logins with token verification

- using graph API to get friends lists to populate table views

- posting to user's Facebook page

- liking stuff

Now my client want to use the Facebook Requests Dialog API to sent requests from the app to facebook friends that the user selects. I know the Facebook SDK for iOS can do this but I'm not so sure about social.framework. Google searches I've done to date are as clear as mud.

So.... if any of you have been down this particular yellow brick road already and can let me know for sure I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Hello, Steven,

I have not used Social.framework or the Facebook SDK for iOS, but I *have* written an authentication framework for FB on Mac:

https://github.com/philippec/PhFacebook

It's not fun to write these unofficial frameworks (since FB is a moving target) so if you can use something official, (even the FB iOS SDK), I would strongly recommend that.

The FB SDK is Apache-licensed, so you can use it without any restrictions AFAIK. The only gotcha is contributing back (there's an agreement), which you don't have to do...
