I love early mornings. Before the dark of night gives way to dawn’s glow, a precious

hour exists, punctuated by brilliant starlight. A time when dreams are palpable, for humanity

has not yet risen from its slumber. I love to bear witness to, and share in, that grand transition

as Creation turns from night to day. My best days begin here.

My name is Patrick Ford, and my

partner in life and ministry is my wife,

Allison. I moved quite a bit growing up,

but I claim Athens, GA as my hometown,

while Allison lived in Memphis, TN until

she moved to Nashville to attend Lipscomb

University. I met my wife in Nashville, as

her college career was beginning and mine

was coming to an end. We both graduated

from Lipscomb: my undergraduate

education is in Theology, Ministry and

Psychology (and I am currently about

halfway through an M.Div. through ACU),

while my wife has an undergraduate degree in Youth Ministry and Children’s Ministry. We

got to know each other and grew to love each other through shared worship and ministry with

the Otter Creek Church. Among this community of faith we first met, began to minister together

and joined our lives in marriage some four years later.

Since then, we have served churches in north Idaho and New Mexico through ministerial

leadership. We are blessed to have had many children of the heart through these ministries,

and we hope to have children of our flesh soon. Until then, our pups, Herschel and Stafford,

round out our family. I pray regularly for our children who are not-yet, for I know they are

conceived first in the mind of God, and then in their mother’s womb.

Quick to imagine, explore and extrapolate, I am as interested in knowing others as in

knowing myself—though I find knowing one’s self essential for knowing others in a meaningful

way. I find pauses and silence to be profoundly full, and enjoy philosophy and theology. I

play a little guitar, enjoy running, cycling and hiking, and I am [slightly] passionate about

Georgia football.

My ministry is anchored in the hope-filled vision of “the fullness of Christ” in

Ephesians 4:11-16 and the self-emptying ethic of Christ in Philippians 2:1-8. I have been a part

of Churches of Christ all my life. I believe in God’s work in and through our fellowship and in

God’s purpose for our fellowship—just as for the whole church. I long to participate in the

church and the Kingdom of God—as it is and as it will be—and have been called to lead and

serve in a movement where my faith first took root.

I leave you with one of my favorite prayers from scripture; a prayer of confident hope,

earnest longing and faithful blessing, “Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your

deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember

mercy” (Habakkuk 3:2).

Blessings,

Patrick & Allison Ford
