The Taieri River Hearings with the Otago Regional Council 2010

O.C.K.C. put a submission into the Council about the proposed minimum flow for the river at Tiroiti.

I will be speaking to our submission in Middlemarch, 2pm, Friday 24th September.

I would welcome the company of any other club  kayakers who may like to travel with me.

 

If you have that Friday spare and want to come along, please let me know. 

I can provide the details of our submission and what I proposed to say at the hearing.

 

By coincidence, three of us, Bill, Russell and myself were on that stretch of the river on Saturday, and at 30 cumecs it was a great warm up  run  for the summer season.

Apologies to anyone who gets this twice but a lot of my contacts in my polo list bounce back with incorrect email addresses so i hoped a lot of you have signed up to the google group
 

 

Its that time of year again, the business end of the season, and the grades have been whittled down to the final 2.

 

Finals are being held tonight. At 7.45 C grade will be decided followed at 8.15 for B grade and 8.45 for A grade.  Games are 10 minute halves and if a draw is the score at full time then golden goal extra time will be enforced and the first team to score will take it out!

 

So to the victors go the spoils, or in this case the trophies, Prize giving will be held in the back room of Filadelphios in Nth east valley Thursday the 23^rd of September. R+R sport has kindly supplied some mint spot prizes including Quick silver Rash vests dry bags head torches and of course some sporks! Cadburys will be providing some spot prizes for those who prefer sweets over gear.

 

$10 per head gets you a ticket on the night which includes some good Pizza wedges chips and of course a chance at a spot prize.

 

Even if your not playing polo this year feel free to drop in and catch up with some mates over some pizza.
