Now it was not - in fact it was (as opposed to forecast) much too light - about 5 miles max / however on occasion a good steady wind 
was blowing closing the conditions expected - we both managed to take off and do some soaring for a few minutes - then lost it.

As we both were testing our new vario - Acsent - I shall check our flight records to see what we did.

We may consider tomorrow and Thursday.
