Scottish Nationals Series 2017

Hi all,
As we start get a bit more flying in, I am thinking about getting a calendar of dates together for the Scottish Nationals Paragliding series.
Last year went ok, though the weather curtailed a few dates still managed 3 events and 5 rounds.
So to encourage new flyers into this sociable entry level competition series I am looking for individuals from the 7 member paragliding clubs to get in touch with dates to host a round.

At present Wingbeat are pencilled in for last weekend of August.

Hi Scott - good to hear from you.

Now, regarding the OPC commitment to the ‘Nationals’ - we are holding our AGM on the 1^st of April - and I do hope one of our members will commit to this leading role on behalf of the club.

You see Jan and me are away in the Far-East for several months this summer and thus, we would not be able to organise and run the event. I shall keep you inform of the outcome in early April.

Here is an update and some dates that have been agreed.

Well we have some dates together for the Nationals rounds.
April 15-16 Easter weekend Highland Club

May 27-28 Glasgow Holiday weekend Arran

September 2-3 Wingbeat.

Other clubs TBC dates appreciated :-)

As we get closer to these dates information will be put on club Google groups websites and the telegram XC group and any other may see as fit.

The first round of the Scottish Nationals Paragliding series is due this weekend, with the Highland club hosting this friendly entry level paragliding series.
Unfortunately the weather does not look like it will play ball, but we will make a desicion on Thursday evening Friday morning.
More details can be found on "Highland Round Chat" telegram group.

The desicion has been made to cancel this round as the forecast has not improved enough.
The Highland club intends to host the round at a later date.

The next scheduled round is due to be Arran over the weekend of 27-28 May which coincides with Glasgow weekend. More details nearer the time.

Wingbeat 2-3 September

Any short notice rounds will be posted when details are known from organising clubs.
