I do as well. I've been in OC for about a year, and while there's a ton of activity around here there doesn't seem to be as much in the way of community as I've seen in locales like Boston where I lived a few years ago or of course The Valley(tm). :) I'm hoping to help create some.

Ideally I'd like to put together an informal agenda-neutral meeting and community group loosely orbiting the Hacker News community but not exclusive to it. We might meet once a month and also use this list to post anything we're working on or anything local of interest.

By way of introduction my name's Phill, @famousactress on HN. I'm not in OC, but I'm in the Encinitas area of coastal north San Diego County... about 25-30 minutes south of San Clemente or 45 minutes south of the merge in Irvine of so. I work out of my home, but for a small startup based in SF as a developer ( http://elationemr.com )

Looking forward to seeing the group develop.
