Sure enough: There was some scattered marlin activity reported today but the fishing was very slow with no marlin caught that I know of. 

    A spotter plane saw 3 marlin this morning inside of the 209 Spot.  As far as I know, boats that went to the area never saw any action.  For your general reference, the 209 Spot is located at latitude and longitude coordinates 3305 and 11752 which is 42 miles 295 degrees from Point Loma.

     There was a tailer reported inside of the 277 Spot off the east end of Catalina.  The coordinates were at latitude and longitude 3312 and 11801 which is 52 miles 295 degrees from Point Loma.

    There was a second hand report that there were two hookups by boats fishing to the northwest of the 43 Fathom Spot.  There was also a marlin bite reported close to the high spot at the 43 Fathom Spot. For your general reference, the 43 Fathom Spot is located at 3238 and 11757 which is 38 miles 256 degrees from Point Loma.

     A sleeper was seen this morning 3 miles northeast of Pyramid Head at San Clemente Island.  Another sleeper was seen 14 miles east southeast of Pyramid Head down toward the 43 Fathom Spot.  That would have you in the region of 3242 and 11806.

     There were boats looking at the Kidney Bank, 182 Spot, 181 Spot, 9 Mile Bank and 178 Spot but I did not hear of any marlin being seen in those areas.
