Ocean Dynamo and binary attributes

I have a use case where I'd like to use OceanDynamo::Table in an existing project, but I want to store binary data. AWS supports this, but I notice that the list of supported data types is very short. Any reason why I can't monkey patch in the support? I literally just need to set/get that attribute, nothing more.

This mailing list hasn't been in use in quite a while, so I'm afraid I haven't seen your message until now. You probably have resolved the issue by now, but let me just say that Ocean development has continued with full force. The framework is being actively developed and used for at least one large-scale project. We are indeed adding support in ocean-dynamo for binary data, and also for native JSON handling. For this, see the ocean-dynamo project on Github.
