Now this is extremely interesting:
Amazon is releasing a freeware version of DynamoDB for local development use. We already have the excellent fake_dynamo gem, but an implementation from the DynamoDB authors themselves of course guarantees compatibility in an even higher degree.
This means that the workflow of developing and testing applications using a local database so central in Ruby in Rails but which hitherto has been restricted to SQL databases is becoming available for the no-SQL and massively scalable DynamoDB.
This is also very good news for the new ocean-dynamo gem. It'll be interesting to give it a spin during the coming work on table associations.
