Cursillo is Moving...
Marywood is planning to relocate all diocesan departments to the recently purchased, Christ Cathedral, in Garden Grove. The move is tentatively planned to occur prior to our regularly scheduled October 2013, Cursillo weekend. Since this momentous day is rapidly approaching, the Cursillo will also be moving.
Since 1981 the OC Cursillo has had unfettered access to Marywood’s facilities for our team formation and Cursillo Retreats. We have been abundantly blessed by our bishops and diocese! It’s my prayer that the OC Cursillo will be moving into the new cathedral some day. First, the new cathedral and many buildings on site will need to be remodeled. Until then... we will need to find a temporary, yet suitable venue.
With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Cursillo Transitional Committee has extensively researched many sites (most of which presented the same issues of limited amenities and astronomical costs) and has found a few locations that will accommodate our unique requirements. Their research has made one thing very clear: each weekend we will be faced with facility fees that are DOUBLE those we have paid in the past. This presents a new challenge — keeping Cursillo retreats affordable for our candidates and team.
Will you PLEASE e-mail me and give me your support? We are looking for MANY generous Cursillistas to help defray the additional cost of our new home. Please consider being one of the 100 Cursillista benefactors needed to tirelessly donate $25 per month. With a little help from you, the OC Cursillo will be able to meet the cost of a future Cursillo site. Feel free to choose any monthly stipend within your budget to contribute. We are able to accommodate Credit Cards, ACH, Banking Bill Pay, or preaddressed envelopes will be available for you...
