Subject: Re: [occupyvenice] Fwd: Objective & Demands Working Group the hardest part of what we are all trying to accomplish - is crossing over the line to the mainstream it WAS achieved in the 60's ( eventually ) but it ended the might they elected richard nixon ... i remember it well ... still there was a glimmer of hope..and he did have to end the war .... when trying to sell my buttons and t-shirts - i get a lot of this" i support what you are doing..but i dont want to wear something that identified myself with your movement .. THAT is a problem ... people dont want to talk about politics ..or take chances and stances ... ( we are different ..but we are preaching to the choir ) ... the idea really is ..to make it COOL to be an occupier .. for everyone ... for that ... we need to make ONE change that is huge and effects everyone ..or maybe get active celebrities ... and for that ( since they are business people ) i sincerely believe the movement has to go into the office .. or an office setting ( out of the parks) ...the city hall parks are great for getting attention .. but ultimately, camping out on city hall smacks of homelessness, lost soul-ness, ( attitudes of the general public ( not me ) ..but we have to take it seriously and try and figure out how to reverse it . .. believe it or not ..maybe it is not buttons ... but we need to start wearing something that identifies us to the cause ... people start showing up on talk shows with one article that says " i support the occupy movement " ..something not militant ( no arm band ) ... maybe a rubber band bracelet ... if we know of celebrities who would openly support occupy on TV with something they wear .. we should create it for them ... and market them for profit ... ( responsible capitalism ..not no capitalism ... that will never fly here ) ... but i cant afford to make more stuff without selling it first now ... the real idea IS an occupy fashion line that gets into shops ... and is cool ... people NEED to see others support OCCUPY or this will die out ... people generally behave in certain sheep like ways .. but that cuts both ways ...they WILL follow trends ..we have to set them ... and break out of preaching to the choir ... ( ok ..i will put on my own "running on too long " signal .. :) joseph - Hide quoted text -
