re: OLA OV art show

Here's a post re: the mtg held last eve at Pitfire Pizza downtown re: the art show. I think there's a walk-thru soon at the venue if folks want to check it out. 

I'll intermittently post threads here re: the show as updates. Our first post-mtg one is below.

For clarity and in keeping with what the 'show planning group' discussed last night at the Pitfire Pizza mtg, I wanted to put out there my list of artists to invite to the art show on the 17th.

Again, SF & Mear 1 have expressed prior interest in contributing work to the previous incarnation of this show & a  follow up message was just sent highlighting that 1) the event is now a benefit for Alex's family & 2) that no art will be for sale. 

I was taking some notes and wanted to forward some of the basic work steps we were addressing to get this together:

1) Reconfirm with Vortex;

2) Contact Dep't of Cult Affairs & request murals;

3) Get some of Alex's images for poster/flyer/invite/promo content - I've got this;

4) Each group member make list of artists to approach;

5) Extend invite to all artists interested via Cannibal Flower/Create Fixate/HIVE;

6) Print showcards/posters/flyers;

7) Announce progress/changes at OLA GA.

Ideas re: tent encampments in venue, a family craft village spot, and wall of protest signs were also discussed. Jessie & Kat have confirmed to screen outside. 

Great to meet everyone. Any idea when we could meet next? I can do Tuesday next week.

roxanne announced @ga last night...  altho all were enthusiastic about 'art show' ...  mood changed when she announced date of 17th... seems 17th has many other actions... yes - there will always be plenty of actions on anyd day we pick...  but 17th particularly busy -- hmm... maybe an addl week for artists to submit could help - in light that we are just getting the invites together... ?   (submitting art on march 10th is 7 days away)....  just a thought... m'ska  (btw:  i have calls out to yvonne and ryan -aka saber w giant flag... and magda is sending video "tiny tents' -- is thrilled to have in show)....
