Hey all my name is Justin I am organizing with students, staff and faculty to put together Occupy USF.
We are interested in putting together a Teach-In for students and other people at USF about the economic situation and the global movement to change it, starting in Greece and Tunisia, Egypt and now Wall Street and all over the US.
I would like to find some Professors who are knowledgeable and interested in giving such a presentation. This is a great way to get the word out to many students and other people in the USF community who otherwise might not hear the hopeful message of this movement.
Would you all like to present? Or know anyone who would like to present?
The themes we were talking about are: the global economic collapse (causes, effects) ,
the movement for social justice in Egypt, Tunisia, Greece (international roots of Occupy movement), The US Occupy movement, Alternatives to global capitalism
Please pass this email on to all interested people.
Thanks,
Justin Valone

Hey everyone,

In case you haven't noticed...
We are on our second night occupying USF! We are on the grass outside the church by Gleeson Plaza.

If you haven't come out and joined us to discuss the occupation at any time during the day or night, you should come by! We have been having lots of conversations with passers-by and gaining awareness and support for the Occupy movement. Come support the camp by taking a shift to occupy during the day, joining us at night, making a sign, telling your friends and classmates, and being creative about how to get more people involved!
As far as our relationships with the school and other school organizations go, last night campus security brought us six pizzas, today the law school brought us a bunch of pizzas, and a sorority gave us a whole bunch of Thanksgiving food.

In other news, we participated in a town hall meeting today about the Occupy movement, which was another good way of raising awareness about what we are doing on campus.

If you have any suggestions about workshops, teach-ins, films, or other ways that we can make the occupation a place for education, please come by and share them!

We will continue having our weekly Tuesday 12 pm meetings, too!

See you at the camp!

Charlotte
